When can I apply for a learner's permit in Virginia?
Teens in Virginia can apply for a Learner’s Permit when they are 15½ years old.
What are the requirements to get my learner's permit?
In addition to having a parent or guardian sign your application form, you will need to pass a written driver’s knowledge test. Upon receipt of your Learner’s Permit, you will be required to have a licensed driver who is at least 21 years old seated in the front seat with you when you drive.
