Prepare With the UT DLD Driver’s Manual

Prepare for your learner’s permit, driver’s license, or renewal test with the Utah DPS Driver’s Manual.  The Vermont Driver’s Manual is published by the Utah Department of Public Safety and covers the following topics

    • Obtaining Driver License – identification, tests, donor program, fees
    • Rules of the Road – speed, signaling, backing, right-of-way, stopping, parking
    • Signs, Signals, and Markers – traffic signals, pavement markers
    • Basic Driving Skills – freeway driving, night driving, sharing the road, safety belts, airbags
    • How Crashes Affect You – insurance coverage, financial responsibility
    • License Revocation – drinking and driving, point systems, suspended license.

The driver’s handbook is a great first step in your test prep journey but don’t forget to test your knowledge with our Utah permit practice tests.  You can expect questions on the rules of the road and safe driving practices. Like the real exam, questions are created based on the information in the manual.  You will need to:

  • Identify traffic signs including regulatory, warning, and guide signs
  • Understand the pavement and lane markings
  • Learn to share the road with others including pedestrians, trucks, and motorcycles
