You may know D.C. best as the nation’s capital. However, from historic Pennsylvania Avenue to the cherry-blossom lined Tidal Basin, the District is also home to some of America’s most scenic drives. But before you can get behind the wheel in Washington, you will need to obtain your learner’s permit. You can apply for your learner’s permit if you are at least 16 years old. Then, you can take the written test required for your learner’s permit at your nearest Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) center.

In order to pass the written test, you will need to master the rules of the road, including recognizing common road signs, adhering to speed limits, and driving under hazardous conditions. We can help you succeed on test day with our Washington D.C. permit practice test. Our DC permit practice test will introduce you to the structure and content of the actual test, help you identify any knowledge gaps, and leave you much more confident on the path towards becoming a licensed driver.
