When can I apply for a learner’s permit in Alaska?
You can apply for your instruction permit immediately after turning 14 years of age. The permit is valid for 2 years and can be renewed once. If you have an instruction permit from out of state, you will still be required to have an Alaska instruction permit to drive in the state.

This person must be seated in the passenger seat at all times.
